Our Work in Nunavut

Since 2001, we’ve been proud to work across all 25 communities in Nunavut, collaborating with individuals, businesses, non-profits, organizations, and government entities. We’ve supported a diverse range of sectors, offering expertise in governance, business development, marketing, human resources, finance, health, policy development, grant writing, and funding proposals. Our partnerships with the Government of Nunavut, Agnico Eagle Mines, Kativik, and the Nunavut Community Futures Association have allowed us to tailor our services to the unique needs of each community. Our current programs focus on building capacity, fostering business development, and enhancing tourism, providing the support needed to drive long-term growth and success across the region.

Our Programs

Advisory and Mentorship Program

Catalyste+ has been proudly partnering with the Nunavut Community Futures Association (NCFA) and the Government of Nunavut Economic Development and Transportation (ED&T) for the past six years to deliver the Nunavut Advisory and Mentorship Program (AMP). This program has grown in both scale and impact each year, supporting entrepreneurs, local governments, and organizations across all three regions of Nunavut. Funded by the Government of Nunavut ED&T, AMP aims to foster economic growth, improve employment outcomes, and promote good governance across the territory. By filling critical gaps in capacity-building for entrepreneurs, hamlets, and not-for-profits, AMP enhances participants’ skills and knowledge, helping them achieve their business goals and contributing to sustainable community economic growth. This program accepts 18 mentees a year.

Capacity Building for Kivalliq Businesses

Catalyste+ is proud to lead and deliver the “The Ikajuutiit Business Mentorship Program” program in the Kivalliq, which provides business capacity development to five existing businesses. Funded by Agnico Eagle Mines, this mentorship program focuses on strengthening critical business skills, improving financial literacy, and providing support in key areas such as human resources, marketing, and decision-making. Participants also receive guidance in increasing Indigenous staff in strategic roles and accessing funding to help grow their businesses. Now in its second year, this program helps businesses overcome challenges such as isolation, limited networks, and access to new markets. By offering tailored mentorship, Catalyste+ continues to empower Kivalliq entrepreneurs to achieve sustainable growth and success in a rapidly evolving business landscape.

Inuit Executive Career Development Program

Inuit Tourism Business Mentorship Program

The Inuit Tourism Business Mentorship Program, a collaborative effort between Catalyste+ and the Government of Nunavut, is designed to support Inuit tourism business owners in Nunavut. The program provides training, mentorship, and dedicated project time to five Inuit tourism entrepreneurs, helping them leverage their skills and expand their businesses. Each mentorship consists of a combination of in-person and virtual sessions over a four to six-month period. Now in its second year, the program continues to grow and empower Inuit tourism operators, offering up to 10 days of focused mentorship. This initiative is essential in fostering the growth of the Inuit tourism sector, with a strong focus on building professional capacity and promoting sustainable business practices.
