Innovative Leadership for Equitable & Accessible Democracy
As part of the Government of Canada’s Indo-Pacific Strategy, Catalyste+ partners with governments and civil society organizations in Mongolia, the Philippines, and Vietnam to promote inclusive governance, accountability, and citizen participation. Funded by Global Affairs Canada, the project empowers women and marginalized groups to participate more fully in society while fostering sustainable, locally anchored leadership that enhances both civic engagement and long-term development outcomes.
Project Focus
i-LEAD integrates civic engagement into government initiatives and decisions about digital governance, responsible business practices, agriculture and food security, and gender-responsive public services, to support equitable economic and social development. The program advances digital services and gender-responsive budgeting in Mongolia; builds IT hubs, delivers digital skills training, and promotes climate-smart, Indigenous-led development in the Philippines; and supports responsible business practices that consider marginalized populations in Vietnam—fostering responsive, transparent institutions at the national and sub-national levels in these countries.
