Our Efforts in Colombia
Catalyste+ has been working in Colombia since 1976, building the capacity of small businesses and chambers of commerce to drive community economic development. Our work with local partners through the Accelerating Women’s Empowerment program helps important sectors like tourism and agribusiness become more productive, equitable and environmentally sustainable. Enabling an environment for gender equality guides our actions.

Strengthening Agribusiness
We’re empowering women farmers to increase production and access markets. Rural women are building their leadership skills and growing micro, small and medium-sized enterprises with improved products, services and marketing.
Building Capacity for Tourism and Hospitality
We’re providing technical assistance to organizations and associations focused on sustainable and responsible tourism. Women are building their leadership skills and growing small businesses.
How We’ve Made a Difference in Colombia
▪ Members of the Asociación de Mujeres Sembradoras de Vida developed their marketing skills and increased sales of their artisanal products crafted from recycled materials.
▪ We partnered with the San Rafael Local Tourism Network to support women leading efforts for the preservation of nature and culture through responsible tourism.
